Before the Koch brothers co-opted the Tea Party (focusing it on hatred and bigotry instead of reform) and before all sorts of left wing ideologies drowned out the original aims of the Occupy Movement – these two movements had a common purpose:
*Our government’s been hijacked and is enacting laws that don’t reflect the will of the People.*
The most effective method those in power could use to derail that singular purpose is to muddy it up with divisive social agendas that alienate 50% of the populace and turn movements that could have united the people into movements that uphold the status quo by keeping them divided.
