“Around 3,000 people have converged at Padang Merbok to protest against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
Representatives of several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) delivered their respective speeches on the stage.
Bersih chairman Maria Chin Abdullah urged parliament members to reject TPP at the parliament on Tuesday.
“The TPP agreement will affect several economic sectors including agriculture, medicine and small and medium enterprises. Medicine prices will go up if it is implemented in our country,” she said.
Other speakers present at the protest included Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali, PKR vice president, Tian Chua and Kongres Rakyat chairman, Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid.
Most speeches were laced with condemnation on the TPP agreement.
