Militarized police and government programs target peaceful activists and protest movements.

* A multimillion dollar US Department of Defense (DoD) research program is funding universities to model the dynamics, risks and tipping points for large-scale civil unrest across the world, under the supervision of various US military agencies.

* The project is managed by the US Army Research Office and focuses on “large-scale movements involving more than 1,000 participants in enduring activity,” covering 58 countries in total. The project explicitly sets out to study non-violent activists.

* Millions of people worldwide are critical of what they see as the U.S. government’s efforts to militarize social science in the service of perpetual illegal wars of aggression.

Minerva is a prime example of the deeply paranoid, cognitive dissonance-laced nature of military “ideology”. National security agencies don’t even have to take accountability for their actions, yet have no qualms about painting innocent people as potential terrorists. The government is taking your tax money. And instead of using it in positive ways, they’re using it to further militarize police forces and study why you don’t like your government, and figure out what you might try to do about it.
