Government Sued Greenbergs Indignant Demand for Billions Illustrates Why Americans Have Lost Faith

Ben S. Bernanke recently faced tough questions in a federal courtroom.

And he seemed “none too pleased about it.

AIG, is suing the U.S. government on the grounds that its 2008 bailout of the firm violated the CEO’s constitutional rights. Mr. Bernanke has said the 82 billion in government commitments, was a necessary evil that he and the presidential administration undertook only because AIG’s collapse would have imperiled the world economy.

That “back-door bailout” may forever be debated, but we believe history will vindicate the AIG rescue.
